about the artist
Hello! I am Michele, the gal behind the lens. I am a mom to 3 and Mimi to 5. I am married to my High School Sweetheart, Chris, who you may see from time to time helping me out. I have always had a love of capturing special moments in my life, a talent that was likely inheirted from my Aunt Donna. She was forever taking pictures of everything we did, everywhere we went. It was a bit annoying when I was little. But now, I am super appreciatative that she captured moments of my family. My momma passed in 2016 from stage 4 lung cancer. I am so glad to have the images my Aunt took. When we lost my mom, I realized that I didn't have many pictures to have on display at the funeral. That further inspired me to encourage moms to be in more pictures with their kids. You never know what tomorrow may hold, but a picture will be around for generations.
I have been shooting professionally for almost 8 years. I have spent that time learning and growing my trade by attending workshops, both in person and online. There is never a point where you have stopped learning all there is to know. I enjoy learning new techniques and I am a bit of a prop hoarder. (Just ask my family! lol) My oldest grandson, Rylan, was my inspiration to give photography a try. I've always known it was something I enjoyed, but had never really thought about it being something I could do to help support my family. I took some pictures of him in a make-shift set up in my floor in front of a window with a point and shoot camera. Thought they were great! ( looking back it was funny how bad they were) The rest, as the say, is history. I quickly learned about Newborn saftey, which I am a HUGE supporter and promoter of. Since that time, I have done almost every type of photography. Maternity, Newborn, Boudoir, Weddings, Commerical, Milestone, Birth, Cake Smash, Nature, Events, Fashion, Fresh 48 and Seniors.
I see myself as a bit of an intravert, pretty shy until I get to know someone and a pretty funny gal, if I say so myself. My grands are usually my (reluctant) models when I have a new idea or new set that I want to get images of. When I get stuck in a rut I love to get creatative and do some projects for myself.
